In 1893, Dürrstein founded his own watch manufacture in the watchmaking town of Glashütte. To prove his competence in watchmaking, Johannes Dürrstein assigned the master watchmaker Julius Bergter to build a particularly complex watch about 1900, which even surpassed the Grande Complication, which used to be the most successful calibrator to that date. With its 18 complications, the watch has been considered the most complex watch in the world. Since the 1990s, Union is part of Glashütte Original, which focuses on the strengths of the long-tradition brand. The best-known models are: Bergter, Belisar, Noramis, Seris, Diplomat and Klassik.
