About the brand

The company already existed as a watch business from 1832. The watch factory was founded by the Swiss watchmaker Ernest Francillon in St. Imier in 1866. In 1867, it becomes one of the first watch manufactures in Switzerland. In 1952, Longines goes down in the history of the Olympic Games as official timekeeper and appears at every Summer and Winter Olypics ever since. Probably the best known carriers in the history of Longines watches are Charles Lindbergh, who survived the Atlantic crossing with a strapped around the thigh Longines pilot's watch and the actor Humphrey Borgart who looked into the camera with a melancholy gaze and a tonneau-shaped Longines on his arm in the fifties. Best-known models are: Admiral, Dolce Vita, Flagship, Lindbergh and La Grande.

Impermeability

If the watch has been tested for water resistance, detailed infomation about the time and pressure used in the test can be found on the enclosed protocol. According to DIN 8310, a watch's water resistance is not permanently guaranteed. It is affected by the aging of gaskets or deformation of watch parts over the course of time. Please refer to the enclosed information about water resistance and have a look at the test certificate. In case there is no infomation on any specified water resistance level, the watch has not been tested by us.

Viewing

As the item is being kept in a secure place, it can only be sold on inspection upon request and according to prior agreement.

Personal pickup

Every purchased item can be picked up in-store as long as the buyer has transferred the money beforehand or has agreed to pay in cash. Please make an appointment before your visit. We will be pleased to welcome you on our premises.
