Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf was of the opinion that "progress in the art of watchmaking should promote human progress." Accordingly, the Rolex Datejust was of great importance within the company. Over the years, it was to undergo repeated changes that symbolised progress and elegance at the same time. The luxury watch with its various versions soon became a collector's item for enthusiasts with the prospect of a high increase in value.
To mark the company's 40th anniversary, the Datejust was fitted with the legendary Jubilee bracelet. The five-row bracelet with the elegant clasp emphasises the watch once again and embodies a timeless style. Various models with the Jubilee bracelet are still available today.
Rolex was not afraid to conquer new target groups. The Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust, which had many of the advantages of the classic Datejust, was the first ladies' version to be launched on the market in 1957. Initially available in 26 mm, the beautiful watch is now also available in 28 mm.
In order to meet the growing requirements and demand, there are always new interpretations of the Rolex Datejust. In versions with a palm tree or fluted pattern, set with diamonds and fitted with new bezels, the luxury watch has survived numerous style changes and eras. The 41-millimetre Datejust II is particularly popular, quickly becoming an eye-catcher with its large case. The "Mother-of-Pearl" Datejust has proven to be an eye-catcher with its striking design.
