Panerai Luminor Marina
This wonderfully fascinating watch has its origins in the Italian military navy. Panerai, as an Italian-Swiss watch manufacturer, had entered into a partnership with the Italian navy for decades and supplied them primarily with diving watches that were characterised by their outstanding water resistance. The Radiomir model, which was developed specifically for the navy in 1936, was a prime example of this for many years. The history of the Luminor from Panerai began in the 1950s.
Distinctive crown guard on the watch case
The Panerai Luminor has a very characteristic and eye-catching feature that sets it apart from other luxury watches - the striking crown guard on the watch case immediately catches the eye and has become a trademark of the model. In addition to this, it is above all the size that connoisseurs appreciate. Even the first models of the Panerai Luminor had a case size of 47 mm and even today the designs have been retained. Over the decades, Panerai has kept more flexibility in this respect, with sizes varying between 40 and 47 mm. In any case, the marine watch remains striking!
The special thing about the different versions are the materials developed in-house. These include, for example, the red gold alloy Goldtech, the carbon fibre composite Carbotech and the basalt fibre-based Fibratech.
Luminor Marina Platinumtech and eSteel
The development of the Panerai Luminor continues to the modern day and inspires enthusiasts of the brand, including Sylvester Stallone. The Luminor Marina Platinumtech uses a particularly resistant platinum alloy, while the Luminor Marina eSteel is made from recycled steel. The Carbotech Blu Notte is certainly a speciality, with the number of pieces limited to 500. This is already associated with a high collector's value due to its rarity, although the watch itself is still quite young and was only launched in 2021.
Prices of the Panerai Luminor vary greatly
Panerai watches are held in high esteem and generate a high collector's value. It is therefore hardly surprising that older models in particular sell for high prices. There are currently versions of the Panerai Luminor that are available from 4,000 euros, but rare luxury watches from the brand can also reach 30,000 euros.
