The various Breitling models are already characterised by their outstanding robustness. This is even more pronounced with the Breitling Colt, as this watch was designed for the military and this is strikingly reflected in its design. Very compact, stable and functional are characteristics that are attributed to the Breitling Colt in various versions.
Design of the Breitling Colt
The Breitling Colt has its very own character without losing any important Breitling brand elements. The case is made of stainless steel and measures between 33 mm and 45 mm in the different versions of the Colt. A striking feature is the bezel, which has four tabs for optimum operation. The indices engraved on the bezel make it easy to read the watch.
First introduced in the 1980s, the Breitling Colt can look back on considerable changes in design. The different sizes alone testify to this, but the different materials used for the bracelets or as quartz or automatic - the Colt is extremely varied. Ultimately, all versions have one thing in common - a sapphire crystal cover glass with anti-reflective coating on both sides and a screw-down case back.
Water-resistant to 200 metres and available at affordable prices, the Breitling Colt is often referred to as the entry-level model for the Swiss watch manufacturer.
From 2014, the Colt received a major overhaul. There were interesting colour variants in particular, as the watch has since been available with a dial in Volcano Black, Navy Blue or Stratus Silver.
Models of the Breitling Colt
The sporty Breitling Colt is available in various versions, including the Colt Chronograph Automatic, Colt Quartz, Colt 36 and Colt Lady.
The three-hand models of the Colt, which were available in sizes between 41 and 44 mm, sparked enthusiasm. The colour of the dial was blue, black, silver and anthracite and some selected references featured the so-called railway minute scale, for example.
The Breitling Colt Skyracer is a speciality. With a case size of 45 mm, it is the largest Breitling Colt and is made from Breitlight composite material, which is particularly light. Completely black, a high-precision SuperQuartz movement contributes to the functionality of this extraordinary watch. Water-resistant to 100 metres, the Breitling Colt Skyracer is a particularly popular model in the series.
Price of a Breitling Colt
In terms of price, the Breitling Colt is one of the most affordable models from the Swiss watch manufacturer. Certified pre-owned watches can be purchased for as little as €1,300. In some cases, the price can even be lower. Otherwise, the cost of a Breitling Colt ranges between €1,600 and €2,300.
Selected and special models such as a Breitling Colt Chronograph Automatic can cost around €3,600, but this is a rarity.
