Breitling Avenger
Breitling has succeeded in combining a diving and pilot's watch in perfect form with the Avenger. According to the watch manufacturer, the watch is aimed at pilots "who never admit defeat!" This claim is reflected above all in the functionality and robustness of this exceptional luxury watch. Since 2013, the Breitling Avenger II has been a continuation or rather a new collection that sets new standards, particularly in terms of nautical design.
Stylish and robust - the Breitling Avenger
The Breitling Avenger is an eye-catcher. This is less due to its eye-catching design than to the actual size of the watch, which can vary between 43 mm and 50 mm in the different models. Particularly striking is the unidirectional rotating bezel of the Breiling Avenger, which is additionally equipped with four bezel riders to ensure easy use even when wearing gloves. This is accompanied by the effect that the domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides is protected from external influences such as impacts.
Breitling has launched various dial designs on the market. The baton indices have a very tidy appearance, while the stencilled numerals are very striking. This is particularly true of the Breitling Avenger Hurricane, whose numerals are very reminiscent of the painted numbers on aeroplanes. There are few colour variations, with black being the predominant colour. Of course, there is also a deep blue or dials in white, but these are clearly in the minority.
The brand new Breitling Avenger models offer a greater variety of colours. Here, the watches themselves are available in yellow, green and cream.
Breitling Avenger II sets high standards
In 2013, Breitling decided to launch the Avenger II, a new collection that sets high standards, particularly in terms of functionality. Water-resistant up to 300 metres and with a power reserve of 40 to 55 hours, the Avenger II is an exceptional watch.
The collection includes two chronographs, Avenger II (Ref. A1338111) and Super Avenger II (Ref. A1337111), as well as a watch with a second time zone (Avenger II GMT (Ref. A3239011)) and a diver's watch (Avenger II Seawolf (Ref. A1733110)).
Avenger Blackbird & Avenger Hurricane
Of course, Breitling has also launched special models of the Avenger, which will delight collectors and enthusiasts with a penchant for oversized and eye-catching watches alike. The Avenger Blackbird owes its name to a reconnaissance aircraft - the Lockheed SR-71, which was in service with the Air Force for over 30 years and was known as the Blackbird.
The special thing about the Avenger Hurricane is the material. This watch was made from the composite material "Breitlight", which is significantly lighter than steel and therefore more comfortable to wear. Featuring a matt black case and an eye-catching dial, this is one of the most popular Breitling Avenger watches.
Price of the Breitling Avenger
The Breitling Avenger is a very good entry-level watch in the luxury watch segment. Pre-owned models can be purchased for as little as €2,000. Most models cost between €3,000 and €4,500 depending on the model and version.
